Yes, I’m selling my love

Popular Nollywood actress Angela Okorie has caused a stir on social media after laying out her no-nonsense conditions for any man seeking her love — or hand in marriage.

In a candid Instagram post, Angela shared a blunt conversation she had with a close male friend who humorously warned that any man interested in her would first undergo a two-year background investigation before even being considered for a relationship.

“A male friend of mine said, ‘Angela, any guy wey you go date or marry, we go investigate am for 2 years before you go gree. We go know his family house, we go know he mama, we go know he papa, we go know his siblings, we go find out whether them get madness for their family.’”

According to her, the friend also jokingly suggested that any potential suitor must be financially ready to pay daily fees — like an artist’s appearance fee — before even getting the chance to talk to her.

Angela didn’t disagree. In fact, she doubled down on the idea, adding:

“I believe him. So note that before dating or marriage, you will pay a billion Naira. I don’t care if people say I’m selling my love. Yes, I’m selling my love o.”

The actress, known for her bold personality, explained her stance further by citing the increasing number of insincere and opportunistic people trying to force their way into relationships with public figures.

“Maka ndi iberibe adigo too much,” she wrote, using Igbo to emphasize that “foolish people are now too many.”
