Kofi Jumah was picked up while celebrating his 75th birthday with family and friends—Paul Yandoh reveals

Ashanti Regional Communications Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Paul Yandoh has disclosed that Maxwell Kofi Jumah was arrested by personnel of the National Security while celebrating his 75th birthday with loved ones at home.

According to him, they were in a jubilant mood when personnel from the National Security came in their pickup to arrest the former GIHOC boss.

Narrating what happened to Asempa FM, Paul Yandoh said, “We were at his home in a jubilant mood, wishing him the best of life. We were praying that what happened to him some years ago would not visit him again. While at it, armed officers from the national security stormed his house and demanded that he goes with them”.

He continued, “There were six personnel, but four entered the house while the two waited in the vehicle they brought. So we asked for their warrant, and they showed it to us on the phone that he is wanted for stealing. He asked what he had stolen, and he was told he had stolen a car from his former office: a Hyundai Genesis.

He said the car was evaluated by STC and had been paid for, but the personnel insisted that they would pick him up. They took him to the Central Police Station in Kumasi. He sat on a plastic chair at the back of the counter until 4 am this morning, when he was brought to Accra”.

Paul Yandoh, an elderly man who has suffered from an unknown disease in the last two years, should not be given such a bad memory of his birthday.

Meanwhile, Maxwell Kofi Jumah has been granted a GHC 50,000 bail with two sureties.
