Albert Dwumfour re-elected GJA President

Albert Kwabena Dwumfour has been re-elected as President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), securing a commanding victory in the 2025 National Executive Election.
With 445 out of 690 total votes cast, Dwumfour earned 64.49 percent of the ballots, defeating his contender, Charles Yao Mawusi, who polled 245 votes.
The vice-presidential race saw Rebecca Ekpe emerge victorious with 414 votes, representing 60.35 percent of the total, while her opponent, Mary Mensah, garnered 272 votes.
Dominic Hlordzi also claimed a solid win in the contest for General Secretary, obtaining 443 votes, which amounted to 64.20 percent. His rival, Akwasi Agyeman, secured 247 votes.
In a relatively close contest for the position of Organising Secretary, Suleiman Mustapha edged out Maxwell Kudekor with 365 votes against 321, reflecting a margin of just over six percentage points.
For the Public Affairs portfolio, Zadok Kwame Gyesi convincingly won with 431 votes (63.01 percent), ahead of Caesar Abagali, who received 253.
The contest for Treasurer saw Bertha Badu-Agyei win with 401 votes, translating into 58.28 percent.
Her opponent, Theodora A. Amedetor Yakanu, polled 287 votes.
