2Face never used to address issues like this – Dotun reacts to viral video

The recent apology video by Nigerian music legend 2Face Idibia has sparked a wider conversation—not just about his controversial remarks, but about the rising pressure on celebrities to issue public apologies in the name of damage control.
After stating during a podcast that “a man cannot be sexually satisfied with only one woman,” 2Face appeared in a video where he expressed regret and apologized to his wife, kids, and fans.
The video, however, has raised eyebrows—not for its content, but for its tone and context.
Radio host and media personality Dotun (Do2dtun) was one of the first to call it out, saying:“Why always make him retract a video or make an apology always like a child? He is vulnerable and someone is milking it… This isn’t looking good at all.”
2Face, famously private and calm under pressure, has rarely responded to public controversies in this manner—even during intense media storms in the past.
His sudden turn to public repentance has many wondering whether his management, personal circle, or the weight of digital culture is forcing him into a performative loop.
