EC may have been intimidated by the NDC gov’t for the rerun—Salam Mustapha

National Youth Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mustapha Salam, has described the decision by the Electoral Commission (EC) to rerun the election in 19 polling stations in Ablekuma North as shameful.

He argues that the commission was left with just 3 polling stations to verify in the old process, which was ongoing until some party members besieged the office of the EC.

To him, the EC must rerun elections in only the three polling stations under contention, which is what the commission should rerun and not 19 polling stations as communicated earlier today.

Mustapha Salam suspects the Electoral Commission may have been intimidated by the NDC government, or they are just biased towards the opposition political party.

His position, expressed via a social media post, read, “Shameful! Disgusting!

EC- you have been very vocal in your communication that 3 polling stations are outstanding to complete collation. How, when and why did you arrive at a rerun of not just the three but 19 polling stations?

You’re being bias or you have been intimidated by the NDC government? If it’s the later, then say so boldly and let the records capture same”.
