You want to take it by killing? – Miracles Aboagye reacts after Hawa Koomson attack

Dennis Miracles Aboagye has strongly condemned the violence that marred the Ablekuma North parliamentary rerun on Friday, July 11, taking to social media to express his outrage after Mavis Hawa Koomson was assaulted.
“You have 188 seats… There’s a seat that you clearly lost and you want to take it by killing??” he posted on Facebook, questioning the motives behind the violent disruptions.
The chaos erupted when unidentified macho men stormed the St. Peter’s polling station, unleashing attacks that led to injuries and a temporary suspension of voting.
The attackers arrived in what eyewitnesses described as a highly coordinated manner, causing panic among voters and electoral officers alike.
Security forces were quickly deployed to restore order, allowing the election to continue, though tensions remained high throughout the day.
Among those caught in the fracas was former Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East, Hawa Koomson, who was reportedly attacked at the scene. Her presence, believed to be in support of NPP’s Nana Akua Afriyie, coincided with the height of the disruption.
The rerun itself was organized by the Electoral Commission to resolve a longstanding dispute dating back to the 2024 general elections. However, the violent turn of events has raised serious concerns about electoral security and political tolerance.
