ECG outlines areas afected by Sunday power outage

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced a series of scheduled power outages on Sunday, July 13, 2025, to allow for essential maintenance works aimed at improving the reliability of power supply nationwide.

The maintenance exercise will affect parts of the Western, Tema, and Greater Accra regions, with varying timeframes and locations.

In the Western Region, two separate operations will take place.

From 9:00 am to 12:00 pm, areas such as Vienna City, Mankessim White House, Accra Station, and nearby communities will experience power cuts.

A second session from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm will impact Daboase, Sekyere Krobo, Sekyere Nsuta, Aboaboso, Bosomase, and surrounding towns.

Residents in the Tema Region—including Mobole, Ataa Mensah, Boishe, Afienya, Philip Kope, and the Greenhouse Enclave—will face outages from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

In Greater Accra, the shutdown will last from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, affecting a mix of residential and industrial areas.

These include Kings Cottage, Guinness Depot, Timber Market, Adedenkpo, West Coast Beverages, Intelligent Card Products, Eskay Pharmaceutical, and several others.

According to ECG, these upgrades are part of efforts to strengthen the power distribution network and ensure efficient service delivery. The company has apologized for any inconvenience caused and urged the public to cooperate as the works are carried out.
