I can’t point to any credible name that wants to lead NPP—Fiifi Kwetey

General Secretary for the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fiifi Kwetey has said that he finds difficulty in pointing to any credible person who has announced his intentions to lead the New Patriotic Party.

He says this is very worrying because the government needs a very credible opposition to put it on its toes.

Fiifi Kwetey was addressing the media at the University of Ghana where he attended the general meeting of the NDC’s tertiary wing, TEIN.

He said, regardless of the names out there who lack credibility, the party has the opportunity to put in place a system that will allow for credible men to emerge to lead the party from where it is now.

Fiifi Kwetey believes that if the right systems are put in place, there will be a very healthy competition between the NPP and the NDC where credible men will be presented to be voted upon.

“They should try because I’m hearing the names and I don’t really find credibility in any of them. But I’m hoping that they should find one because there are good men in there. Let them have a system that allows for real true men who tell the truth to emerge. I look forward to a competition between the NPP and the NDC that will have credible men on both sides. Men who will help the country, not pretenders,” he explained.
