NPP’s continuous belief in politics of lies a great worry to Ghana—Fiifi Kwetey

The National Democratic Congress’s General Secretary, Fiifi Kwetey, has expressed worry over the New Patriotic Party’s continuous belief that politics is about lying to the people.
According to him, politics have evolved, and as the party goes for its National Delegates Conference, there must be a transformation from such politics.
He believes that if the NPP can rid itself of the lies and transform the party into one that accepts responsibility and tells the truth, it will be a plus for the political party and the country as a whole.
Fiifi Kwetey made this known when he addressed the media after the general meeting of the NDC’s tertiary wing, TEIN, at the University of Ghana.
“The NPP still thinks that the country is made up of gullible people, and all you need to do is come to lie to them. Lie about things that you cannot do, have no courage to admit when the economy is bad, deceive the country and blame everything on the Russia-Ukraine war,” he stated.
He continued, “I am hoping that is a mindset that needs to go but the NPP believes that politics is about how much you’re lying, how much you can fool the people and how much you can use slogans and use words. I am saying that there must be a transition from that old and if we can do that, it will be wonderful for Ghana.”
