We are builders, not defeated – Kodua declares at NPP Delegates Conference

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has declared the party far from defeated, as it begins what he calls a bold and strategic renewal process aimed at reclaiming power in the 2028 general elections.
Speaking at the party’s Annual National Delegates Conference at the Trade Fair Centre in Accra on Thursday, July 18, 2025, Kodua emphasized that despite the NPP’s loss in the 2024 elections, the party remains united, focused, and determined.
“We are not broken. We are not defeated. Neither have we lost. We are builders, we are dreamers, we are fighters, we are servants of the Ghanaian people,” he declared, drawing loud cheers from the crowd.
Kodua urged party members to reject despair and instead embrace a disciplined, forward-looking approach that positions the NPP as a viable alternative to the current administration.
“We must see ourselves as a disciplined and credible alternative to the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC),” he added.
The conference, which marks a key milestone in the NPP’s post-election recovery, also featured the rollout of major constitutional reforms aimed at restructuring internal party mechanisms, enhancing grassroots participation, and redefining the party’s approach to leadership and governance.
Kodua described the event as “the beginning of our quest… to recapture power in 2028,” setting the tone for what many insiders see as a critical rebuilding phase for the party.
Themed “Rebuilding Together with Our Values,” the conference comes at a time of intense introspection within the NPP, as leaders seek to reconnect with the party’s base and chart a new direction after nearly a decade in power.
