Be firm and crack the whip to instill discipline

Former Vice President of the Republic of Ghana and 2024 flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has urged the leadership of the political party to crack the whip on members who engage in attacks on their internal competitors.

He says their attacks are part of the things that caused the NPP’s defeat in the 2024 elections and should not be entertained going forward.

Dr Mahamudu Bawumia was speaking at the party’s National Delegates Conference at the University of Ghana when he made this call.

“Stop the internal attacks now. Stop the internal attacks now. To the leadership of the party, be firm and crack the whip so that discipline is maintained within our ranks.

It is with discipline, humility, lessons learnt and pursuit of the common good for Ghana that we can become the refreshed party we desire”.

The former Vice President used the opportunity to remind the party of the need to be guided by the rule of what is in the best interest of Ghana as they reform their party.
