Don’t blame Bawumia’s early concession for your loss—Mussa Dankwa to NPP’s failed PCs

Pollster Mussa Dankwa has come at critics of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s early concession after the 2024 elections.
According to him, the former vice president’s early concession was the best decision to have been made in the interest of Ghana and did not lead to the NPP losing their seats.
He explains that the parliamentary candidates of the New Patriotic Party who lost their seats were bound to lose due to events long before the 2024 elections, and therefore should not blame Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The pollster was proud the former flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party tackled his critics head-on and making his position clear on the subject matter.
His post on the matter shared via social media read” Yesterday, Dr Bawumia tackled head on his critics who said, his early concession cost NPP. He reiterated that the at all times, the interest of Ghana should come first and that if it is in the interest of Ghana, it must be in the interest of NPP. This was a statement from a true statement regardless of your criticisms of him.
But my question to those critics is, why should a concession by a presidential candidate cause your defeat in the parliamentary elections? Your defeat was caused by events long before the concession speech. Did the concession cause you to abandon your polling stations while voting was still ongoing? Was it not just about collating results that have been counted and certified at the polling station? This statement reminds me of the “battle of Uhud” in Meddinah when soldiers who were tasked to take position on the mountain top as an observation post abandoned their post to join in celebration of impending victory only for their enemies to emerge from nowhere and inflicted defeat on them. Do not abandon post until total victory. You can’t blame Dr Bawumia for abandoning your post at the collation centres.
If we don’t have corrupt electoral system, why should tallying simple pick sheets change outcome of an election. Elections are won at the polling station and not on the grounds of concession speech. We have design a very corrupt electoral system that seeks to give advantage to those who can outsmart the system strategy of rigging.
They do not care if the country burns so long as their individual objectives can be achieved. After leading him to massive election defeat, you should not be seeking to hang on his neck the responsibility of not doing what it takes to keep the peace of this country”.
