Where Did My Data Go?—DKB Fumes as MTN’s 214GB Bundle ‘Vanishes’ in Just 19 Days

Popular Ghanaian comedian DKB has taken to social media to criticize major telecommunications provider MTN, accusing the company of shortchanging consumers with quickly vanishing data bundles.
According to DKB, the data packages that used to last him over six weeks under similar usage habits now run out in just three weeks. He expressed confusion and frustration over why MTN bundles deplete much faster now, despite government interventions meant to protect consumer interests.
DKB questioned the logic behind the current trend, pointing out that although MTN had previously increased data allocations after pushback from the government, the bundles now seem to disappear at lightning speed. He called on MTN to address these concerns, as many subscribers are experiencing similar issues with data exhaustion.
The comedian’s remarks echo widespread complaints among MTN users in Ghana, many of whom bemoan the short lifespan of data packages despite consistent usage patterns.
“MTN Ghana, what’s the meaning of this?. When the data bundle for Turbonet was 92 gig, the one Ursula Owusu brought, I could use it for six weeks or two months and watch so many movies. The new one, you said you have brought it to 214 gig, I just bought one less than three weeks this is my second movie I’m watching, and it is finished.
The other one, I watched several movies and series, Squid Game, everything. Now second movie I’m watching, and then normal daily browsing on phone, how can 214 gig last for three weeks when 92 gig lasted for two months. 19 days 214 gig is finished with less consumption. MTN please explain because I don’t understand this”.
