NPP Congress marks turning point in party reform – Annoh-Dompreh

Majority Chief Whip and Member of Parliament for Nsawam-Adoagyiri, Hon. Frank Annoh-Dompreh, has described the 2025 National Congress of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as a powerful symbol of renewal and forward movement for the party.
In a statement issued after the event on Facebook, he commended delegates from across the country who converged in Accra, stating that the congress provided a crucial forum for unity, dialogue, and reaffirmation of the NPP’s core values.
According to him, the gathering came at a time when the party must focus not only on winning elections but on strengthening its democratic foundations and strategic vision.
Hon. Annoh-Dompreh noted that the congress considered and debated key constitutional amendments aimed at increasing transparency, broadening inclusivity, and aligning party structures with Ghana’s evolving political realities.
These included motions to review the party’s regional executive election calendar to ensure it better fits national campaign timelines, proposals to enhance the role of TESCON and diaspora branches in decision-making, and a renewed emphasis on stronger coordination between the party’s parliamentary caucus and national leadership.
There were also spirited discussions on enhancing youth and gender representation at all levels of the party.
He lauded the open and thoughtful nature of the discussions, pointing out that they reflect a party ready to reform from within while positioning itself as Ghana’s most credible vehicle for development.
Looking ahead, Hon. Annoh-Dompreh urged all party faithful to remain resolute and united as the NPP works toward the 2028 general elections.
He emphasized the importance of internal engagement, teamwork, and focus, saying the NPP must continue to demonstrate that it has both the vision and structure to drive national transformation.
