2026 Primaries a Done Deal for the People’s Favorite — Sticka

Former Deputy Finance Minister Stephen Amoah, PhD, has explained that the 2026 presidential primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is a done deal for Kennedy Agyapong.

He says even in the primaries for the 2024 elections, when Kennedy Agyapong did not have massive support and the system fought him, he was able to poll 37% of the vote cast on the day.

To him, now that Kennedy Agyapong has been able to marshal a following and currently has the support of many in the party, winning the election is non-negotiable.

Sticka as he is affectionately called, indicated there is no system to fight Kennedy Agyapong, indicating it is a done deal.

“In this election, everything can happen. It is possible Kennedy Agyapong can win. In the previous elections, Dr Bawumia had the support of all the MPs, Kennedy Agyapong did not even have one supporter. However, this time around, Dr Bawumia is not enjoying the support of persons like Adutwum and Bryan Acheampong.

Now the Akufo-Addo system has been taken away and there is an even playing field for all anyone can win. In the previous elections, Kennedy, without support, garnered 37% of the votes. Now, if you go to polling stations and others, that is where Kennedy’s support is. You’ll find five executives who have openly declared their support for him. Kennedy’s strength is in the grassroots and they form over 200,000 delegates who will vote. This election is a done deal,” he said on Assafuah Radio in Kumasi.
