God Used 2024 Defeat To Save Bawumia From Greedy Akufo-Addo ‘Cabal’ – Former Staffer

A former presidential staffer, Justice A. Newton-Offei, has described the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) defeat in the 2024 general elections as a “good omen” for the future of Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the NPP.

According to the seasoned radiographer turned politician, the defeat offered a golden opportunity to rid the party of the clique of “greedy and selfish” individuals who hijacked the Akufo-Addo administration and were waiting to do same with Bawumia.

In a reflective article shared publicly, Newton-Offei claimed that had the NPP won the 2024 elections, the same group of individuals who “held the Akufo-Addo presidency hostage” would have immediately surrounded Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and derailed his vision.

“This same clique would’ve quickly surrounded Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, an equally exceptional personality of impeccable capabilities, held him hostage, and derailed his vision,” he wrote.

He lamented that the group, whom he accused of treating the Akufo-Addo presidency as their personal property, abandoned the President after the party’s electoral loss and made no effort to defend his legacy.

“What actually makes it more nauseating is that this clique… have simply disappeared into thin air after our loss, instead of sticking around to defend the man’s legacy,” he noted.

“The 2024 defeat will provide us with the opportunity to build a united, formidable, appealing, and acceptable image, totally devoid of greedy, selfish and arrogant characters that the good people of Ghana will be proud to associate with come 2028,” he stated.

The former campaign aide pledged his full support for Vice President Dr. Bawumia’s expected 2028 presidential bid.

“I have decided to support the candidature of H.E. Dr. Bawumia; I will help him succeed as our party’s 2028 flagbearer, President on 7th January, 2029; and we shall keep the greedy, selfish, and arrogant characters at bay from corridors of power,” he affirmed.
