Odike ‘dumps’ Alan for Adutwum

Founder and Leader of the United Front Party (UFP), Mr. Akwasi Addae Odike has dumped former Minister for Trade and Industry, John Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanten and is now rooting for former Education Minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, to become President
Odike, who, before the 2024 elections, was crisscrossing the country with Alan on Tuesday, July 29, 2024, charged delegates of the New Patriotic Party to consider Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum as their flagbearer, describing the Bosomtwe lawmaker as someone with the same qualities as former President John Agyekum Kufuor.
Speaking at a press conference he organised in Kumasi, Odike emphasised that the NPP currently has serious cracks and that the party needs someone who can help unite the party members. To Odike, Dr. Adutwum is the perfect person to save the party in that direction.
One of the key reasons Odike wants the NPP to make Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum their flagbearer is the MP’s philosophy, principles, knowledge, and huge interest in the areas of TVET and STEM, which he describes as the catalysts and foundations on which countries like China and Singapore had their development and progress.
Odike believes that Dr. Adutwum’s STEM and TVET knowledge and agenda can turn the country’s fortunes around.
The outspoken politician, Akwasi Addae Odike, further indicated that Dr. Adutwum’s entrepreneurial skills and success in the US convince him that he can lead the country to the heights the people deserve. “He is a successful businessman who has established schools in the U.S. and has attracted commendation from the U.S. government,” he added.
He has called on the NPP delegates to consider the progress of their party, unity among members, and a possible means to recapture power as priorities and the pillars on which their party can thrive. He opines that all these can be achieved if they elect Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum as flagbearer.
“I am not a member of the NPP, but I know that a candidate the NPP elects is a probable president,” he stated.
