Keeping Afenyo-Markin as minority leader will better NDC’s chances for 2028—Gen. Mosquito

Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Asiedu Nketia, has urged the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to retain Alexander Afenyo-Markin as the party’s leader in Parliament.
He is of the view that Afenyo Markins, as the minority leader, will help the NDC win the 2028 election with ease.
Chairman Asiedu Nketia explained that his actions in and out of Parliament continue to sink the NPP deeper, and therefore keeping him there will serve the best interest of the NDC.
“I have to commend the NPP for keeping Afenyo Markin as their leader in Parliament. They should not change him because he is making a significant contribution to our course. He now serves as a campaign manager for the NDC, and his continuous existence in that position will offer the 2028 elections to the NDC on a silver platter,” he said in an interview on Ambassador TV.
Asiedu Nketia, speaking on the reshuffle that the NDC undertook in Parliament ahead of the 2024 election, explained that the party had realized some shortfalls in Parliament and had to take action to better its chances.
He noted that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) copied from them and changed their leadership, but they failed because they did not understand the thinking behind the decision they took, and just copied them.
