According to a report by Adomonline, a 30-year-old woman hawking electrical cables died instantly after being hit by a long vehicle.
The accident occurred on the morning of Tuesday, July 29, 2025, when the truck reportedly suffered a brake failure near the Airport Roundabout-Anloga Junction Highway.
Eyewitnesses said the woman was attempting to cross the busy road when the incident occurred. Officers from the Motor Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) at the Airport Police Station were called to the scene.
She was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital, and her body has since been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital morgue.
In a related development, an accident that occurred in the Northern Region killed a groom and his newlywed wife.
The fatal accident happened in the early hours of Monday, June 23, 2025, in Gurugu, just a day after their wedding celebration.
The couple was reportedly returning home when an unregistered vehicle believed to have been driven by Nigerian nationals rammed into them shortly after midnight.
The bride died on the spot, while the groom was rushed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital in critical condition. Sadly, he was confirmed dead later that same day.
The vehicle involved fled the scene and remains untraced. The bodies of the couple were taken to the TTH morgue around 2:50 AM.
Reacting to the heartbreaking news on Facebook, Fuseini Safianu Mandeya posted, “The wife died at the spot, according to eyewitnesses. Reports say the husband was confirmed dead this afternoon too.”
