During last Monday parliamentary debate of the Mid-Year Budget review presented by the Hon. Finance Minister on Thursday, 21st July, 2025, Hon. Kumah took his turn to chronicle the interventions by the current administration that have transformed our educational system to the admiration of all.

Below are some of the interventions he enumerated:

Supply of food stuffs in appropriate quantities and qualities to all public Senior High Schools across the country. This ensured that students are now being fed with nutritious meals to boost the growth and intelligence for learning.

Clearing all three (3) years arrears of Capitation grants. This has enabled basic school heads to procure needed logistics for the schools to improve teaching and learning.

The uncapping of the GETFund by president Mahama’s administration has made available some GH¢4.6bn in the 1st half of the year and all this amount has been released to the educational sector. Unlike in the erstwhile Akufo Addo-Bawumiah led NPP administration with the GETFund being capped, GH¢4.8bn accrued in the fund, only GH¢1bn was released to the educational sector last year under the same period.

The release of GH¢1bn to the Education Ministry for the smooth running of the Free SHS policy. He added, aside this, unprecedentedly, government has also made money available for the payment of this year’s WASSCE practicals.
