The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has converted a fuel-powered Toyota Corolla into a fully electric vehicle.
The car, previously part of the Vice-Chancellor’s office fleet, was unveiled during the launch of the university’s first-ever TekAlumni Homecoming 2025.
According to university officials, the project is part of KNUST’s effort to promote innovation and practical research.
According to Pure FM, the conversion was led by a team of engineers and students to demonstrate the potential of locally driven solutions in clean energy.
The electric Corolla was showcased as an example of how academic institutions can contribute to solving real-world challenges, including environmental sustainability.
