Police foil robbery attempt in Obuasi, arrest one suspect after dramatic chase

The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the successful prevention of a robbery attack along the Tutuka-Akrofuom road in Obuasi, Ashanti Region, thanks to the swift response of officers from the Obuasi Divisional Command.
According to a statement issued on the official Facebook page of the Ghana Police, officers responded quickly to a distress call and arrived at the scene to find a gang of armed robbers who immediately fled into the nearby bush, abandoning two unregistered motorbikes and a machete.
In the ensuing chase, the police pursued the fleeing suspects into the bush and managed to arrest one of them, identified as Pascal Yenkye.
He sustained a gunshot wound to his leg while attempting to escape on a motorbike and is currently receiving treatment under police guard.
A manhunt is now underway to apprehend the remaining suspects who managed to flee the scene.
The Ghana Police Service reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order and urged the public to remain vigilant and supportive of law enforcement efforts across the country.
