I no longer want this marriage

Award-winning Nollywood actress Evan Okoro has publicly appealed for help, revealing troubling details about her short-lived marriage to Prince Chibuzor Nwachimelueze.
In a video shared on YouTube, the actress, who traditionally tied the knot on April 13, 2025, in her hometown, declared that she is walking away from the marriage — not for lack of effort, but to save her life.
“I don’t want the marriage anymore,” she began. “I’m living in fear. Something strong is happening to me, and if I don’t come out to say it, I don’t know where I will be tomorrow.”
Evan revealed that Prince Chibuzor has allegedly threatened her life, vowing to “buy” her if she dares to leave him.
“He said that to my face,” she recounted. “He is threatening my life. I have written a petition, and he’s currently at the police station.”
She also disclosed that her bride price was never paid — a crucial component of traditional marriage in many African cultures. “The day they came to marry me, they forgot to pay my bride price,” she said. “My family reminded them two weeks ago, and still nothing. His price is not on my head.”
In the video, Evan also accused Chibuzor of emotional abandonment and using her for financial gain.
“This guy married me thinking I have money to spend,” she lamented. “When I met him, I thought it was love. But I was building my house when he came into my life — and I will finish it.”
