Interdenominational state funeral service for victims of Adansi helicopter crash to be held on August 15—Mahama

President of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama has announced that an interdenominational state funeral service will be held in memory of 8 Ghanaians who died in the Adansi helicopter crash.

According to him, this will take place on Friday, August 15, at the Black Star Square.

The President, during his address, announced that a book of condolence will be opened for the deceased persons from August 10 to August 14.

Background

The government of Ghana announced the tragic death of some top government officials in a helicopter crash on August 6, 2025.

According to the Chief of Staff, Defence Minister Dr Omane Boamah, Dr Murtala Mohammed, Alhaji Limuna Mohammed, Dr Samuel Sarpong, Mr Samuel Aboagye.

Others include Squadron Peter Abafemi Anala, flying officer Mannin Twum Ampadu, Segeant Addo Mensah.

He used the opportunity to wish their families well and expressed their condolences.
