We spoke virtually with Omane Boamah before the tragedy – Rashid Tanko-Computer

Rashid Tanko-Computer has shared new insights into the final hours of the late Defence Minister, Dr. Omane Boamah, before the tragic military helicopter crash.
The Deputy Director of Elections and IT for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) revealed that Dr. Boamah did not inform close colleagues about his trip that day in an interview on JoyNews’ PM Express.
“In fact, in the morning, we had a close discussion with Dr Omane Boamah around 7 am. It was virtual. Because he mostly does meetings virtually,” he said.
Rashid described Dr. Boamah as a man who valued time and efficiency. “He was a type who wanted to maximise time. Instead of people coming together, sitting around, he would say,
‘Let’s use the social media platforms to do our discussions.’ So most of our meetings were held virtually in the run-up to the 2024 election.”
Reflecting on the political climate that day, Rashid added, “That was the day I got to know that NPP were out for trouble in the 2024 election.”
The helicopter crash in the Adansi Akrofuom District claimed the lives of Dr Omane Boamah, another cabinet minister, and six others.
