Mahama presiding over worsening galamsey crisis – Miracles Aboagye

Miracles Aboagye has taken aim at President John Dramani Mahama over what he describes as the worsening illegal mining (galamsey) crisis under his watch.

The aide to former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia argued that Mahama’s administration failed to confront the problem with the urgency it required, allowing the menace to spiral out of control.

“Galamsey has escalated under the Mahama administration, and that is a reality we cannot deny,” he stated on JoyNews’ Newsfile on Saturday, August 16.

He further warned that the country is at risk of suffering irreparable environmental destruction if leaders treat the issue with political talk rather than decisive measures.

“The country deserves action, not rhetoric. Without strong and decisive leadership, the damage being caused by galamsey will be irreversible,” Aboagye stressed.

His remarks feed into the heated national conversation about galamsey, which continues to dominate headlines as rivers, farmlands, and forests suffer degradation.
