Democracy Hub breaks silence on Ridge Hospital saga

Civil society group Democracy Hub has issued a public statement following reports of a disturbance at Ridge Hospital involving Ralph Afful Williams, also known as Fellow Ghanaians, an activist linked to the organisation.
In a statement dated Tuesday, August 19, 2025, Democracy Hub confirmed its awareness of Mr. Williams’ connection to the incident and acknowledged that the matter has drawn public attention.
The group noted that the Minister for Health has already held preliminary meetings to gather facts, including engaging directly with Mr. Williams. A committee has also been constituted to investigate the issue further.
“We will await the findings of the committee to inform any further steps or public commentary,” Democracy Hub said.
The organisation stressed its commitment to transparency, accountability, and the rule of law, adding that it would not rush to conclusions until the official findings are released.
The incident at Ridge Hospital has sparked widespread debate, with conflicting accounts emerging regarding the events that took place. Democracy Hub’s intervention signals a cautious approach, as stakeholders await the committee’s report.
