Kintampo North MCE declared “War” on Illegal Mining.

The Kintampo North Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) led by Hon. Isaac Donkor arrested some illegal miners operating along the Black Volta in the Kintampo Municipality on 19th August, 2025.
Hon. Donkor made it clear that, he committed to protecting the health of residents and preserving natural resources along the Black Volta and in the Municipality.

In a statement he said “Illegal mining, or galamsey, is indeed a highly destructive activity with severe environmental and health consequences” also The Black Volta is one of Ghana’s precious water sources, which must be safeguarded for both present and future generations.
In furtherance, the Hon. MCE also pledged to collaborate with media, security agencies and stakeholders to combat illegal mining, or galamsey, in the municipality.
