He has no link with the NDC – NIA refutes political claims about Ralph St. William

Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the National Identification Authority (NIA), Alhaji Mohammed Nasiru, has clarified that social media activist Ralph St. William, accused of assaulting health workers at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital (Ridge), has no affiliation with the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Speaking on Channel One TV’s Breakfast Daily on Thursday, August 21, Alhaji Nasiru said, “The gentleman involved has no link with the NDC as a political party, [it] is a fact. Let us not add to our conversation.

“He is not an NDC affiliate. Everybody knows his political lineage as a political activist.

The incident is very unfortunate, and the arrest when it happens will be welcome news, because none of us wants to witness such scenes, especially when we want to move the country forward.”

His clarification follows a viral video showing relatives of an accident victim clashing with emergency staff at Ridge Hospital over alleged delays in treatment. Ralph St. William was identified as one of those involved in the altercation.

However, Ralph St. William has vehemently denied the claims.

In a Facebook Livestream on Thursday, August 21, 2025, he described the nurse who claimed she was manhandled as an actress, insisting that neither he nor his colleagues assaulted any hospital staff.

“They don’t know what is coming. Best female actress of the year. Someone whose shoulder has been dislocated looks at her. She claims no one but Ralph hit her.

“They are still trying to protect whatever they are saying and not take responsibility.

“If this is the footage to defend your claim that this lady was beaten, then you’ve left much to be desired,” he stated, referring to CCTV footage released by Ridge Hospital.

Ralph St. William further accused the hospital of failing in its duty to serve the public, suggesting the footage only exposes the facility’s negligence rather than proving the assault claims.
