Rapper Lil Nas X has been hospitalized and later jailed following a bizarre incident in Los Angeles.
Police say they were called early Thursday to Ventura Boulevard in Studio City after reports of a naked man walking in the street. When officers arrived, Lil Nas X—born Montero Lamar Hill—allegedly charged at them.
The 26-year-old was first taken to a hospital over concerns of a suspected drug overdose before being booked on suspicion of misdemeanor obstruction, LAPD spokesperson Charles Miller confirmed.
Footage obtained by TMZ shows the rapper in white underwear and cowboy boots, singing as he strolled down the boulevard. “Hey, don’t be late to the party tonight?” he told the person filming him.
After a few hours in the hospital, he was transferred to jail. The Independent reports that his representatives have yet to comment.
Meanwhile, fans flooded social media with messages of support. One wrote on X, “Mont, you are an incredible artist and deserve good things. We love and support you.”
