Politicians use fake research to deceive delegates

Pius Enam Hadzide, aide to Dr. Bryan Acheampong, has questioned the credibility of the latest Global Info Analytics poll, which places Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia far ahead of his competitors in the race to lead the New Patriotic Party (NPP) into the 2028 general elections.
“I don’t know about it, but many of these researches are a psychological operation sometimes sponsored by politicians who seek to deceive unsuspecting audiences and to create a misleading impression,” Hadzide told Citi Eyewitness News on Friday, August 22.
The poll, conducted between August 12 and 20, surveyed 2,656 NPP delegates nationwide. It shows Dr. Bawumia with a commanding 52% support, followed by Kennedy Agyapong with 17%, and Dr. Bryan Acheampong at 3%, placing third.
But Hadzide insists the numbers don’t reflect reality. “We are very confident that Dr. Bryan Acheampong is not only the fastest growing contender in this race — published research has also confirmed this,” he stressed.
Meanwhile, Global Info Analytics also released results for the NPP Chairmanship race. Former General Secretary John Boadu leads with 32%, trailed closely by Ashanti Regional Chairman Benard Antwi Boasiako (Chairman Wontumi) with 23%. Other contenders — Asamoah Boateng, Kwasi Amoako Attah, and Edward Boateng — secured 6%, 2%, and 2% respectively. Interestingly, 34% of delegates remain undecided, signaling that the race is still wide open.
As the NPP’s internal elections heat up, the debate over polls versus ground reality is likely to intensify.
