Ridge nurse slaps Ralph with GHC 7m lawsuit

Rejoice Tsotso Bortei, a nurse at the Greater Accra Regional (Ridge) Hospital who was assaulted during a violent incident involving relatives of a patient on August 17, has filed a civil lawsuit against social media personality Ralph Saint Williams, popularly known as Ralph De Fellow Ghanaian.
In a writ of summons issued by the High Court in Accra, Rejoice is demanding GHS 7 million in damages for alleged physical assault and defamation.
The summons, signed by Acting Chief Justice P. Baffoe-Bonnie, commands the defendant to enter an appearance within eight days of service.
“You are hereby commanded that within eight days after service of this writ on you, inclusive of the day of service, you do cause an appearance to be entered for you, Ralph Saint Williams a.k.a. Ralph De Fellow Ghanaian,” the court document states.
It further cautions that failure to comply could result in judgment being given in his absence.
The case stems from a confrontation at Ridge Hospital in which Rejoice Bortei was allegedly attacked during chaos sparked by relatives of a patient.
She now seeks legal redress, accusing Ralph of worsening the ordeal through defamatory commentary that followed.
