Helicopter crash: We will show appreciation soon

Dr. Frank Amoakohene has appealed to residents of Sikaman-Brofoyedu to exercise patience as the government works to provide support for those who assisted in the aftermath of the recent helicopter crash that claimed eight lives.
The Ashanti Regional Minister was reacting to the concerns of locals—who say they feel neglected despite playing a key role in transporting the remains of the victims from the crash site.
Dr. Amoakohene acknowledged their frustrations but assured that due recognition and support will follow.
“We have not been ourselves for the past two weeks, and in the process of the funeral and all that, definitely you will not have the peace to even think of yourself or even think of what issues may be happening,” he said, noting the government’s preoccupation with funeral arrangements.
He added that efforts are already underway to identify and engage the youth who volunteered during the tragic incident.
“We are picking the database of all the youth who helped us with the incident of the plane crash. We are going to reach out to them. Even that process has started already,” Dr. Amoakohene explained.
The Minister further pledged to personally visit the community with the District Chief Executive to express appreciation and outline available opportunities.
“I will make sure I go there together with the DCE because if I don’t, I am sure it will become news as well. We will definitely show appreciation and other job opportunities that we have discussed with the central government. We will make them available. We applaud them for their work, just that they need to give us time,” he assured.
