Kotoko considering contract termination with Johnson Oppong

Kumasi-based Kessben Radio is reporting that Kumasi Asante Kotoko is considering terminating its contract with Johnson Oppong.
This comes two months after the club signed the player.
According to the report, if Asante Kotoko is able to sign Walid Fuseini ‘Neymar’, they will be forced to part ways with Johnson, who hasn’t lived up to expectations.
The club is willing to compensate the player before parting ways with him.
Kotoko announced the signing of Johnson Oppong on June 25, 2025.
The post announcing his signing said “Asante Kotoko are pleased to announce the signing of Ghanaian winger Johnson Owusu Oppong on a two-year deal.
The silky attacker joins with a wealth of experience across Ghana and Europe. He enjoyed several successful spells with Dreams FC, where he featured prominently in their historic run to the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final.
Oppong has also accumulated valuable experience abroad, including four seasons with C.S. Marítimo in Portugal, a year with FC Zlín in the Czech Republic, and another campaign with KF Kukësi in Albania.
Oppong arrives as a quick and dynamic winger as we make a return to the CAF Confederation Cup after a two-year absence from continental football”.
