I repeat, nobody invested more in NPP than me – Bryan Acheampong insists

Presidential hopeful Bryan Acheampong has laid out a detailed account of the financial support he claims to have poured into the party and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s 2023 flagbearer campaign.
Speaking to party faithful, he stressed that his contributions were unmatched, insisting he had bankrolled the primaries in the Eastern Region and beyond.
“One billion, one billion cedis every month. If I’m lying, tell Upper East that I’m lying,” he said, challenging critics to verify his claims. He recounted that in November alone, every parliamentary candidate under the NPP in the Eastern Region received substantial funding from him.
“In the month of November, I gave every parliamentary candidate GHC 200,000. There are 26,000 polling stations in the Eastern Region. I sent to you to give to the polling station GHC for each polling station. If it is not true, I want you to tell them,” Acheampong declared.
He noted that apart from one constituency where the MP refused to collect the funds, every other candidate in the region received support directly from him. According to him, none collected less than one million cedis, with only a few receiving slightly below that mark.
“Whether they were ministers, deputy ministers, or they even had their own money, they all came and picked their money. Nobody picked less than a million cedis. Maybe only four got 950,000 or 948,000,” he said.
The Abetifi MP further stated that his financial support averaged around ten billion cedis per constituency, amounting to significant investment across all 33 constituencies, excluding regional operations.
Turning to Dr. Bawumia’s role in the primaries, Acheampong insisted the Vice President did not contribute to the Eastern Region campaign expenses. “Dr. Bawumia’s primaries, Eastern Region—he didn’t bring a penny. I’m saying this so you understand the level of investment that I have made in this party,” he emphasized.
He added that his assistance was not limited to the Eastern Region but extended to other parts of the country as well. “Everything that I have done excludes what I gave to DMB directly for the other 15 regions. So when I say that nobody, I mean nobody,” Acheampong stressed.
