Kwabena Agyei Agyepong submits nomination for NPP presidential race

Flagbearer hopeful Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has filed his nomination at the headquarters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He becomes the first contestant to file his nomination in the contest to elect a flagbearer of the political party ahead of the 2028 elections.

Handing over his forms to the party’s Deputy Chairman of Elections, Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, indicated that submitting his forms reaffirms the principles that anchored the formation of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“This moment is more than a personal aspiration. It is a reaffirmation of the values and principles that anchored the formation of the NPP. Values that must lead us to a new era of renewal and hope.”

He noted that, with where Ghana is currently, the country needs a leader who is unafraid to take bold and transformative decisions, and that is what he represents.

Meanwhile, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has today announced the commencement of registration for additional delegates ahead of its 2026 presidential primaries.

A statement issued on August 26, 2025, by the Secretary of the Presidential Elections Committee, William Yamoah, said the registration follows a decision made at the National Annual Delegates Conference held on July 19, 2025, in Accra.

The new categories of eligible voters added to the party’s voter register — also known as the “album” — include former regional and constituency executives, members of the Council of Elders and Patrons, past Members of Parliament, former ministers and MMDCEs, TESCON leaders, and current and former external branch executives.

The deadline for registration is Friday, September 19, 2025.
