NDC sets strict guidelines for Tamale Central elections

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Northern Region has released detailed guidelines for the upcoming Tamale Central elections, scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. and close before 2 p.m.

Speaking on the preparations, Dr. Arnold Mashud Abukari, Director of Elections and IT for the NDC Northern Region, said, “We are fully committed to ensuring a smooth, transparent, and secure process.

Delegates will be issued QR-code-enabled tags linked to their details, and everyone is required to present an additional identification card that matches their credentials.”

He emphasised security, revealing that about 250 joint security personnel will be deployed to maintain order.

Accredited observers will be restricted to the supporters’ stands and will not be allowed into the inner perimeter without prior approval.

Dr. Abukari also clarified candidate protocols: “Each candidate will be allowed four agents per ballot box, but only one will be authorised to sign the collated results.

Candidates may enter the inner perimeter with two accredited persons but are strictly prohibited from transporting delegates to the center or campaigning at the grounds.”

He further warned that delegates will not be permitted to carry mobile phones into the voting booths, stressing that these measures are designed to protect the integrity of the elections.
