Boako Backs Bawumia Out of Loyalty; he knows he can’t win NPP power in 2028—Tano North NPP Sec

Tano North Constituency secretary Stephen Ntiamoah is of the view that his member of parliament, Dr Gideon Boako, knows Kennedy Agyapong will become the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) after the January 2026 primary.
He holds the view that Dr Gideon Boako is only in the camp of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia because he cannot be ungrateful to the man who gave him opportunities to get to where he is currently.
Stephen Ntiamoah addressed party delegates during Kennedy Agyapong’s visit on Monday, September 8, 2025, when he made this announcement.
“If Hon Kennedy Agyapong becomes president, the first five ministers he will appoint, Dr Gideon Boako will be a part of them. So, don’t think that it is only when Dr. Bawumia becomes president that Gideon Boako will be appointed as minister.
Kennedy Agyapong calls Gideon my son, and for someone to call you my son means there is a very good relationship between them. Dr. Gideon Boako cannot come here and tell you this because in 2016, when we were campaigning, Dr. Gideon Boako was working on his PhD.
He came back after we won and was appointed spokesperson of Dr Bawumia. He also supported him to become MP, but deep within him, he knows that they cannot win the NPP power in 2028, but he cannot be ungrateful to Bawumia. That is why some of us will come to you and tell you the truth. The party’s spirit is dead, and if you want the party to win in 2028, then you need to vote massively for Kennedy Agyapong,” he said.
