Franklin Cudjoe reacts to Abronye’s arrest, demands proof of allegations against IGP

Policy think tank leader Franklin Cudjoe has waded into the ongoing controversy surrounding the arrest of outspoken politician Mr. Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye.
Taking to his social media page, Cudjoe addressed Abronye’s recent allegations against the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), describing them as serious claims that must be substantiated.
“Surely if anyone alleges that the IGP is the dumbest and most corrupt we have ever had, they must be ready to prove these allegations.
“I now understand why Abronye DC was invited by the Police. I listened and watched the tape. I can’t share here,” he wrote.
Cudjoe’s comments come in the wake of a statement issued by the Ghana Police Service on Monday, September 8, 2025, confirming Abronye’s arrest.
The Service said the politician was picked up for what it described as “offensive conduct conducive to the breach of the peace.”
“He is currently in custody and will be put before Court,” the statement read.
