Disregard the false news – Manasseh Azure on alledged salary increment for Zoomlion sweepers

Investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni has dismissed widespread claims on social media suggesting that salaries of Zoomlion sweepers under the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) have been increased.

In a post shared on his social media page, Manasseh clarified:

“Salaries of YEA/Zoomlion sweepers have not been increased. Cabinet is yet to decide on the deal. Disregard the false news.”

The viral reports alleged that the monthly wages of Zoomlion workers had been raised from GHC250 to GHC1,200.

According to the claims, the workers—who previously received only GHC250 out of an allocated GHC750 per person—would now take home the full amount of GHC1,200.

The reports have since sparked public debate, with some commending the supposed increment while others criticised the alleged past deductions.
