NPP’s youth wing to march to police headquarters against police harassment

The Youth Wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has served notice of hitting the streets to demonstrate against what they describe as police harassment.

In a post shared via social media, the Youth Wing of the opposition political party could not fathom why the police are arresting people for no criminal offences, but just harsh criticism of the current government.

To them, it is shocking that similar comments that come from members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have gone unnoticed.

They have therefore served notice that they will march to the Police headquarters in grand style to register their displeasure at the turn of events in the country.

Their message shared via social media read, “Hello folks,

The Ghana Police Service has demonstrated immeasurable bias against the NPP since the inception of this administration. We can count numerous unwarranted arrests: Gordon Asare Bediako, chairman Wontumi, Agyenkwa Nana, Sir Obama and Fante Comedy and other TikTokers and now chairman Abronye for no criminal offences but harsh critique of this government.

The police has refused to arrest similar acts from the NDC. We therefore find the actions of the police service extremely bias and discriminatory.

Hence Aluta!

We have a message for the Ghana Police Service and we will march in a grand style to the police headquarters to give them the message.

Aluuuttttaaaa…”
