Assin North DCE Urges NGOs to Support Educational Development in the District
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Assin North, Hon. Sylvester Amakye Nyarkoh, has made a passionate appeal to non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and benevolent individuals to invest in the educational sector of the district.
Speaking at a donation event, Hon. Nyarkoh emphasized that Assin North is full of untapped talent and potential, which, with the right support, could be developed to benefit the entire nation. He pledged that any resources received towards education under his leadership would be used strictly for their intended purpose.
The call came during a donation exercise by Mr. Lawrence Addae, popularly known as Nana Baffoe a philanthropist and immigration officer stationed under the Bono East Regional Command (Tuobodom District Office) and his team, under the initiative Operation Dress a Child to School. The group donated 1000 exercise books, school uniforms, boxes of pens, pencils, erasers, and other educational materials to Assin Aniakragya D/A Basic School and Assin Abotreye Basic School.
Receiving the items on behalf of the schools, the DCE commended Nana Baffoe and his team for their thoughtful gesture and urged others to emulate their example. He explained that the two beneficiary schools were chosen due to their vulnerability and lack of essential teaching and learning materials.

Mr. Lawrence Addae noted that many children stay out of school not because they lack interest, but because they can’t afford basic school items like uniforms, books, or stationery. He expressed hope that the donation, though small, would help keep more children in school and make them feel valued.

Meanwhile, some of the beneficiary pupils expressed heartfelt gratitude to the donors, stating that the items would ease their burden and motivate them to study harder.
