NDC is losing it; we’re detaching from the people too early— Suhuyini expresses concern

Private legal practitioner and a communications team member for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Hamza Suhuyini, has expressed worry over what he describes as detachment by leading figures of the NDC.
He believes that leading members of the party in government, instead of taking advantage of the power they’ve been given to avail themselves to the people, are rather detaching from them.
Hamza explained that this is how political parties lose power, and the earlier the NDC learns about this, the better for the political party.
He was speaking at the Political Strategy Lab organized by the University of Media and Communication Studies on Saturday, September 14, 2025.
“The leader says it, but again, look at the high table. I didn’t want to agree with him on this subject, but look at the table. If we had to turn back the hands of time about eight, six months ago, the high table would have been full of NDC big names; that is how we lose power. Today, looking at the table, I can count about three people, active members of the NPP, and there are only two of us who are from the NDC; unfortunately, we don’t hold titles in government.
That is how you get detached from the very people who gave you their mandate. So if he makes the statement that we have started losing it, it is a statement of fact; it is not propaganda. They have started regrouping. It is quite clear that is why, even as minority leader, he’s had the time to be here. So while they are starting to make party steps forward, we are competing with ourselves to run back from the very gains we chalked in the last election. Unfortunate but that is the reality,” he stated.
