Tourism and Creative Arts Minister has been very disappointing

Radio personality Nana Romeo has expressed his disappointment in the current government, especially with the Minister of Tourism, Creative Arts, and Culture.

He is of the view that the minister has failed to live up to expectations, considering the massive support she received when she was named as the sector minister.

To him, the presidential media encounter should have been an opportunity to afford media personalities the chance to draw the president’s attention to the failings of his minister because there were promises made during the campaign season that have not seen the light of day.

He believes that the encounter was just for friends and people closer to power, considering the fact that there were no probing questions, especially from the creative arts sector.

“What was the criteria used in selecting journalists? There was no fairness, but if you look at the journalists who went there, most of them were friends. How many stakeholders in the industry were seen there to ask the very pressing questions?

I am not seeing the minister for our sector working, and it is very disappointing. The only people I am seeing putting in effort is Abeiku Santana and KOD. But Rex Omar, the Minister, has not been seen doing anything. They made several promises, but nothing has been done. While in opposition, they made promises and but when given the mantle they have done nothing. Four years is just here and we will sit here and be very critical,” he said on UTV.
