NPP to begin vetting of flagbearer aspirants today

Per the New Patriotic Party’s timelines for the flagbearership race, the political party is expected to begin their vetting of aspirants today, September 15, 2025.

The vetting is expected to end on September 22, 2025.

In all, five aspirants have presented their forms to contest for the flagbearer position of the opposition political party.

The five include Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Dr Bryan Acheampong, Dr Yaw Adutwum, Ing. Kwabena Agyepong, and Kennedy Ohene Agyapong.

Reports suggest that the party charged a development fee of four million Ghana cedis, which some aspirants have refused to pay.

It is not clear if they will be disqualified as a result of their refusal to pay the money or not.

The party per its timelines will go to the polls on January 31, 2026, to elect a flagbearer who will lead the political party to put the government on its toes.
