Judge Acquah has damaged the NDC gov’t – Martin Amidu warns

Beyond his critique of Judge Samuel Bright Acquah, Martin Amidu turned his attention to Attorney-General Dr Dominic Ayine, warning that his inaction is tarnishing the government’s image.

“So many unpleasant things are happening under your watch within the short period you have been the Attorney-General. Judge Samuel Bright Acquah has already done enormous damage to the image of the NDC government under your watch,” Amidu cautioned.

He stressed that political cases were being mishandled, with suspects remanded unnecessarily, creating the impression of persecution.

“No Attorney-General must allow the police and inferior courts to mess the government up with cases involving political opponents,” he said.

Amidu urged vigilance, reminding the Attorney-General that Ghana’s democracy cannot be run like Orwell’s dystopia.

“The Republic of Ghana under the 1992 Constitution is not Animal Farm… I hope and pray to God that Animal Farm is not the country President John Dramani Mahama wants to leave for Ghana as his legacy under Superior Court Justices like Samuel Bright Acquah.”
