TEMA Port: Fake Interpol agent nabbed

MyNewsGh.com has learnt of the arrest of a man whose name has been given as Mr Edem who has been illegally taking monies under the guise of being an Interpol and a BNI agent.

According to our sources at the port, the young man whose name is given as Mr Edem is said to be stationed at the TEMA Habour.

After a luxurious car is cleared and leaves the port, he sends photos and videos of the car to members of his syndicate who follow and accost the car as a stolen car.

Victims are then charged between Ghc 25,000 and Ghc 50,000 before their cars are released to them.

However, luck eluded Mr Edem on Tuesday September 16, 2025 when the modus operandi was used when a luxurious car was cleared at the TEMA port.

The victim who believes his car wasn’t a stolen car called on security personnel who accosted the supposed FBI and Interpol agent.

When questioned, he could not provide any form of identification to prove he was a BNI officer or works with Interpol.

The suspect is currently in police custody aiding investigations into the matter.

Several people who clear luxurious vehicles at the TEMA port have fallen victim to Mr Edem and have had to part ways with huge sums of money to keep their vehicles.

It will be remembered that in recent times, EOCO has announced the seizure of several luxury cars in Ghana which are stolen cars.
