Franklin Cudjoe slams Akufo-Addo over criticism of Mahama, NDC

Policy analyst Franklin Cudjoe has launched a blistering attack on former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, after the ex-leader suggested that Ghanaians have realised the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) under John Dramani Mahama is failing the country.

In a social media post laced with sarcasm and frustration, Cudjoe did not hold back.

“WT Yesu!!!! Lord have mercy!! Anokwa!! Compared to where your legendary destructive economic and very very ugly governance you left us, for which your own Vice-President just admitted and begged for forgiveness?

“You should be wearing sack cloths and walking every week from your village to the fraudulent Cathedral site pond to baptize against all you did against us.

“Don’t remind us okay? You must be on some high grade portion 😃😃,” he wrote.

His outburst followed Akufo-Addo’s comments during the commissioning of a new party office in Bantama, Kumasi, led by the constituency’s MP, Francis Asenso-Boakye.

Speaking to New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporters, the former president accused the Mahama-led administration of poor performance only nine months into governance, and expressed confidence that the NPP’s record would secure them victory in 2028.

Akufo-Addo said the “enormous work” done by his government and that of former President John Agyekum Kufuor remained a strong foundation.

“It is that legacy we will build on to win back power in 2028,” he told party faithful.

But Franklin Cudjoe, the founding president of IMANI Africa, insists that Akufo-Addo lacks the moral authority to criticise his successor given what he described as the “destructive economic and governance mess” left behind.
