Bawumia thinks ahead on energy, unlike NDC – Kojo Poku

Kojo Poku, a key member of the campaign team of New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has highlighted what he describes as a missed opportunity in Ghana’s energy policy.

Poku recalled Dr. Bawumia’s earlier pledge to make heavy investments in solar energy if elected president, a move he argued could have transformed the country’s electricity sector.

“Dr. Bawumia once said that when he becomes President, he would invest massively in solar energy to reduce electricity costs by half. Unfortunately, many Ghanaians didn’t pay attention,” he stated on Wontumi TV.

According to Poku, leadership is about foresight and the ability to implement policies that improve citizens’ quality of life.

He suggested that the current administration under the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has not shown enough commitment to innovative solutions.

“The President is supposed to make decisions that positively impact the lives of citizens. We need leaders who think ahead—like Bawumia, who had a plan to cut costs using renewable energy,” Poku stressed.
