NPP refers petitions against Deputy Communications Director to national council

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced that it has formally referred multiple petitions against its Deputy Director of Communications, Ernest Owusu Bempah, to the party’s National Council for consideration.

In a statement dated September 24, 2025, the party said it had “observed, with grave concern, the conduct of Mr. Ernest Owusu Bempah.”

“The Secretariat has further received formal petitions from party members demanding his removal from office,” the statement continued.

“In line with due process, and considering that his appointment was made upon the recommendation of the National Executive Committee and subsequently approved by the National Council, the matter has been formally referred to the National Council for appropriate consideration and determination.”

General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong emphasized the party’s commitment to fairness.
“The Party reaffirms its unwavering commitment to upholding discipline, safeguarding its values, and ensuring that all matters are handled with fairness and transparency,” he said.

The NPP added that the National Council will review the petitions and determine the next steps regarding Mr. Bempah’s role.
